Your Animal Is Always Speaking: How to Listen with Your Heart
I believe animals are always communicating with us.
Not always in words, but through their eyes, their energy, their behavior, and the quiet ways
they move through our lives.
They feel us. They hear us. They know when we are sad, stressed, happy, grieving, or going
through change. They know much more than most people realize.
To me, animals are not less than us. They are souls, just like we are, only in a different form.
When we begin to see them this way, everything changes. We stop seeing them as just a pet,
and we begin to see the soul that has been with us all along.
Communication begins in stillness.
Sit quietly with your animal. Put your phone away. Take a few slow breaths. Let yourself just be
with them.
Look into their eyes softly. Notice their body. Notice if they move closer, look away, sigh,
stretch, or settle near you.
All of this is communication.
Then ask them gently, in your heart or out loud:
What would you like me to know?
Then wait.
You may feel something in your body. You may see a picture in your mind. You may hear a
thought. Or you may just have a knowing.
Trust what comes.
Animals understand more than we think. Talk to them. Tell them what is happening. If you are
leaving, moving, going through a hard time, or bringing change into the home, include them.
They understand energy. They understand emotion. They understand pictures. And they
understand love.
When an animal's behavior changes, I do not see it as bad. I see it as communication.
Instead of asking, "Why are they acting this way?" we can ask:
What are they trying to show me?
That one question opens the heart.
One of the greatest gifts we can give our animals is our presence.
Not half listening. Not rushing. Not distracted. Just being with them.
They know when we are truly present. They feel it.
Tonight, take a few quiet minutes with your animal. Place your hand on your heart if that feels
right, and say:
I am here.
I am listening.
You are safe.
You are loved.
What would you like me to know?
Then wait.
The answer may come as a feeling, a thought, a picture, or simply the peaceful presence
between you.
Your animal has been speaking to you all along.
And when we slow down enough to listen, something beautiful opens between us.
